GIRLS SOCCER WEEKEND RECAP | TWO TOUGH TESTS
Chelan Girls Soccer faced two strong opponents on the road this weekend, taking on Quincy on Thursday before making the long trip south to Tenino on Saturday.
CHELAN AT QUINCY
The Goats battled hard against a very good Quincy team. Chelan created several opportunities early in the match, but the Quincy defense was able to keep the Goats off the scoreboard.
Throughout the match, Chelan showed flashes of strong defensive play and moments of quality attacking soccer. The matchup provided a valuable early-season look at where the team is and what it needs to continue developing.
With more outdoor training ahead, the focus will be on building chemistry, establishing a rhythm, and continuing to grow together.
CHELAN AT TENINO
After a long four-hour trip south, the Goats faced another strong opponent in Tenino on a cool afternoon with changing weather throughout the match.
Tenino scored approximately seven minutes into the match off a corner kick. As Chelan began to settle in and find its rhythm around the 20-minute mark, a lightning delay paused play for nearly 30 minutes.
The Goats entered halftime trailing 4-0 but came out with a much stronger second half.
Chelan showed improved chemistry, better passing, and more composure on the ball. Several sophomores stepped into significant roles and did a tremendous job competing and making plays.
Next up the Goats host Medical Lake in a non league match up Thursday at 4pm at Chelan Falls Park!
VOLLEYBALL GAME RECAP | GOATS OPEN WITH A SWEEP
Chelan Volleyball traveled to 4A Eastmont for the 2026 season opener and came away with a strong team performance.
The Goats defeated the Wildcats 3-0 to start the season with a statement win against a larger-school opponent.

A great start to the season, but the work continues. Next up the Goats play host to their uplake rivals in the Manson Trojans on Wednesday at CHS.
FOOTBALL POSTGAME RECAP | GOATS WIN A THRILLER
The Chelan Goats opened the 2026 season Friday night with an incredible non-league matchup against the Cle Elum Warriors.
The game went back and forth throughout the night, with both teams battling until the very end. With just three minutes remaining, Cle Elum took a 28-21 lead and put the Goats in a difficult position.
Chelan responded.
The Goats marched down the field and found the end zone with just four seconds remaining, cutting the deficit to 28-27.
With the choice to kick for the tie or go for the win, the Goats chose to trust their team and go for two.
The conversion was GOOD.

A tremendous display of toughness, belief, and resiliency from the Goats, who never stopped competing.

Head Coach Mike Stevens commented on his first win at the helm of the CHS Football Team.
“I loved how the offense spread the ball around, with four different Goats reaching the end zone.”
“I was impressed with how our team responded to adversity in the second half and competed till the very end. They never gave up. And with the chance to tie the game or go for two, the thought of kicking the PAT never crossed my mind. I could sense the boys wanting this game, so we went for the win.”
