Chelan Goats Punch Ticket to State with 70–58 Win Over Lakeside

In a high-stakes loser-out, winner-to-state showdown, the Chelan Goats rose to the occasion Friday night, defeating the Lakeside Eagles 70–58 to secure their place in the WIAA 1A Boys Basketball State Tournament.

Chelan faced early resistance as Lakeside edged ahead after the first quarter, 16–13, but the Goats responded with a strong second-period surge. Behind disciplined offense and increased defensive intensity, Chelan flipped the momentum and carried a 36–32 lead into halftime.

The Goats continued to build separation in the third quarter, executing efficiently on both ends of the floor to extend the advantage to 55–47. Chelan maintained control down the stretch, closing out the Eagles with composure and confidence to seal the 70–58 victory.

Chelan’s offense was powered by a dominant duo. Tev Uttech delivered a game-high 26 points, consistently attacking the defense and creating scoring opportunities, while Luca Faletto added 25 points, providing crucial shot-making and leadership throughout the contest.

With the win, the Goats officially clinched a berth in the WIAA 1A State Tournament, a testament to the team’s resilience and growth this season. Chelan now awaits its official seeding, which is expected to be released early this afternoon.

One thing is certain — the Goats are headed to state.
