The Chelan Goats battled back after a difficult start but ultimately fell to Cascade High School 53-35 on Thursday night at Sargent Field. Early mistakes, turnovers, and missed tackles allowed Cascade to build a lead, but the Goats made adjustments at halftime and showed improved execution and determination in the second half.
Maddoc Finch contributed in both the passing and rushing game, while Tanner Orestad made an impact at receiver and Gage Puckett contributed in the rushing and receiving game. Despite the early setbacks, Chelan continued to compete and showed resilience as the game progressed.
Head Coach Mike Stevens praised the team’s response after halftime: “Despite our slow start, I love how our guys came out in the second half and competed. We never gave up, and the guys kept swinging.”
The Goats will look to carry that second-half momentum into their next matchup as they travel to face Omak High School.
