Chelan Volleyball Continues Historic Run with All-State Honors

The Chelan High School volleyball program once again proved it is among the elite in Washington State, as the Goats earned multiple Class 1A All-State honors, highlighted by Brynn Hughbanks being named Class 1A Player of the Year and Abby Lewellen earning Class 1A Coach of the Year honors for the fourth consecutive season.

For Hughbanks, the recognition marks an incredible third Player of the Year award, a testament to her sustained excellence, leadership, and dominance at the net throughout her high school career. A dynamic outside hitter, Hughbanks has been the cornerstone of the Chelan offense, combining power, consistency, and court awareness while also serving as a steady leader for a program with championship expectations every season.

Chelan’s success extends beyond individual accolades. With Hughbanks’ honor this year, the Goats have now claimed the Class 1A Player of the Year award in each of the last four seasons, beginning with Olivia Strandberg’s award four years ago. This remarkable streak underscores the long-term culture of excellence built within the Chelan volleyball program—one that consistently develops elite athletes while competing at the highest level in the state.

Head coach Abby Lewellen’s fourth straight Coach of the Year award further reflects that culture. Under her guidance, Chelan has remained a perennial contender, balancing competitive success with player development. Lewellen’s ability to elevate her athletes year after year has made Chelan volleyball a benchmark for Class 1A programs across Washington.

Chelan’s depth was also on full display across the All-State teams. In addition to Hughbanks’ Player of the Year and First Team honors, Brooklyn Foyle earned First Team All-State recognition, showcasing her versatility and impact in the middle. Freshman Jayzee Hughbanks added to the accolades by earning First Team honors as a libero, an impressive achievement for a first-year player at the varsity level.

Senior Marley Williams was recognized on the Second Team All-State, capping off a standout season and a strong career in a highly competitive field of athletes statewide.

With multiple players honored, a Player of the Year, and a Coach of the Year once again wearing green and white, Chelan volleyball continues to set the standard in Class 1A. The Goats’ sustained success is a reflection of commitment, leadership, and a program built to last.
