The Chelan High School Athletic Department is proud to announce the hiring of Mike Stevens as the new Head Football Coach of the Chelan Goats.

Coach Stevens brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success from the Yakima area, where he has been teaching and coaching since 2008. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation as a dedicated educator and a knowledgeable football coach with a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

Stevens has served in a variety of coaching roles, most notably at East Valley High School in Yakima, where he helped coach on the defensive side of the ball, while also working with the defensive line, linebackers, and tight ends. From 2019–2023, he was the Associate Head Coach at La Salle High School where he called the defense for the Lightning, further expanding his leadership experience. Most recently, he returned to East Valley as an assistant coach, helping guide the Red Devils to a 2A Final Four appearance.

In addition to his high school coaching experience, Coach Stevens has made a significant impact at the youth level, running the Grid Kid program for six years and helping grow and develop young athletes in the community. Coach Stevens is committed to continued growth in his profession and regularly participates in camps and clinics to stay current with the game.

His experience working with youth programs and building connections will be a great asset to our schools and the Chelan community as a whole.”

Coach Stevens will lead the Chelan football program with a focus on the department’s core values of MORE — Motivated, Open Minded, Respectful, and Engaged. We are confident he will make a positive and lasting impact on our student-athletes and the Chelan community
