CHS Fall Sports – Postseason Information

Post Season Fall

Regular seasons are coming to an end in the next two weeks. With that, comes post season play including CTL League tournaments, District 5 Tournaments and State Tournaments. Below are details for all fall sports post season events.

Football

The Goats will travel to Cascade on Thursday October 30th to take on the Kodiaks and close out their regular season. If the Goats win this game they will most likely claim the #2 seed and qualify for a Tiebreaker against the 5th place SCAC team at a location to be determined.

  • Playoff Qualification: The #1 seed in the CTL and the top 5 teams in the SCAC advance directly to the Round of 24. The fifth-place SCAC team will play a tiebreaker game on Saturday, November 1st, against the #2 seed from the Caribou Trail League. Location TBD.
  • Round of 24 Games: Scheduled for Friday, November 7th or Saturday, November 8th. Teams will be ranked #1–24 by a seeding committee on Sunday, November 2nd at 9:00 AM. Higher seeds will host. Teams from the same league will not be paired in this round, and travel will be minimized where possible.
  • Important Note: These are not bracketed matchups; they are play-in games for the official WIAA State Tournament Round of 12. Final bracket placements will be determined by the WIAA 1A Seeding Committee on Sunday, November 10th.

Volleyball

The Goats will travel to Manson this Tuesday to take on the Trojans in their final game of the regular season. They will then have 11 days off until the start of the District 5 Tournament on November 1st.

District 5 Tournament Qualification: The top two from the Caribou Trail League qualify and Top six teams from the SCAC. The Goats have claimed the 1st spot out of the CTL. Omak and Cascade will play this Saturday, October 25th in a loser out winner to districts contest.

  • Seeding: All eight teams will be seeded on Wednesday, October 29th by a district seeding committee.
  • Tournament Format:
    • Saturday, November 1st: The top two seeds host first and second-round games.
    • Saturday, November 8th: District 5 Championship at a neutral site (TBD once finalists are known).
  • State Qualification:
    • 1st and 2nd place teams qualify for state.
    • 3rd and 4th place teams play a winner-to-state, loser-out District 5/6 crossover on Saturday, November 8th.

Girls Soccer

The girls’ soccer team also concludes the regular season Tuesday against the Cascade Kodiaks. They will then travel to Omak for a District 5 play in game on Saturday the 25th.

District 5 Tournament Qualification: The top two from the Caribou Trail League qualify and Top six teams from the SCAC. Omak and Chelan will play this Saturday, October 25th in a loser out winner to districts contest.

  • Seeding: Decided by committee on Wednesday, October 29th.
  • Tournament Schedule:
    • Thursday, October 30th: First-round games hosted by the top four seeds.
    • Saturday, November 8th: District 5 Championship held at Royal High School.
  • State Qualification:
    • Top two teams qualify for state.
    • 3rd and 4th place teams play a winner-to-state, loser-out District 5/6 crossover on Saturday, November 8th.

Cross Country

The cross-country team heads to Yakima for their postseason races at the District 5/6 State Qualifying Meet on Saturday, November 1st, hosted at Apple Ridge Cross-Country Course (5000 Naches Heights Rd.).

  • Schedule:
    • 2:00 PM – Coaches Meeting
    • 2:15 PM – Opening Ceremonies
    • 2:45 PM – Girls Varsity Race
    • 3:15 PM – Boys Varsity Race
    • 4:00 PM – Awards Ceremony
  • State Qualifying:
    • Top 4 teams and top 28 individuals in both boys’ and girls’ races qualify for state.
  • State Meet: Set for Saturday, November 8th at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
    • 1A Girls – 10:00 AM
    • 1A Boys – 12:00 PM
