CHS Football Friday Night Recap

Goats Battle Hard but Fall Short Against Blaine

The Chelan Goats hit the road Friday night to take on fellow 1A opponent, the Blaine Borderites. In a competitive game that saw momentum swing back and forth, Chelan came up short, falling 19-33 after Blaine secured the win with a late touchdown in the final two minutes.

Offensively, the Goats took to the ground and through the air. Boston Brown carried 12 times for 29 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Maddoc Finch added 11 yards rushing and another score. Finch also connected through the air, completing 15 of 33 passes for 152 yards, including a touchdown strike to Noah Kanehen. Kanehen led Chelan’s receiving corps with 5 receptions for 48 yards and the lone receiving touchdown.

Despite their efforts, Chelan couldn’t fully overcome Blaine’s late push, as the Borderites capitalized in the final minutes to stretch the lead and seal the game.

The Goats will regroup and look to build on this performance as they continue their non-league slate by heading to Liberty Bell to take on the Mountain Lions this Friday.
