The Chelan Goats golf team hit the road to Ephrata to take on the Tigers at Lakeview Golf Course in a unique non-league matchup that featured a mix of formats and a relaxed, competitive atmosphere.
The day was split into two styles of play, with a traditional 9-hole stroke play on the front and a variety of formats on the back nine for the boys—including stroke play, best ball, and scramble—while the girls competed using a best-ball format on their final nine. With the non-traditional setup, no official team scores were recorded, but the match provided a valuable opportunity for the Goats to experience a different course and format.
On the boys side, Carson Clinton led the way with an impressive 71, continuing his strong play this season. Gunnar Baker added an 89, while Jamison Johnson (94) and Grant Coonrod (96) rounded out solid full-round efforts. In the 9-hole mixed format group, Connor Draggoo shot a 52 and Luca Faletto added a 49, both benefiting from the scramble format on the back nine. Paxton Johnson (108) and Fletcher Brandt (107) also contributed for the Goats.
For the girls, Hallie Clinton paced Chelan with a 47 over 9 holes, followed by Sydney Weston with a 59. Quinn Coonrod had a standout day, carding a personal record 54, highlighting continued improvement. Sierra Hooten (67) and Teagen Stewart (68) rounded out the scoring for the Goats.
Overall, it was a great day for Chelan to step outside of league play, enjoy a new course, and compete in a fun and flexible format while continuing to build momentum throughout the season.
