Chelan High School’s winter sports programs will enter postseason competition next month. Below is an overview of the postseason formats, qualification procedures, and important dates for each sport.
Boys Basketball
The top six teams from the South Central Athletic Conference (SCAC) and the top two teams from the Caribou Trail League will qualify for the District 5 1A Boys Basketball Tournament. The district tournament will feature an eight-team, double-elimination format, with teams seeded by a district seeding committee.
With their second consecutive CTL championship the Chelan Boys have already qualified for the District 5 Tournament.
The top two teams that advance to the District 5 Championship game will automatically qualify for the WIAA 1A State Tournament.
The third- and fourth-place teams from the District 5 Tournament will advance to District 5/6 crossover games on Saturday, February 21:
- The third-place team will host the District 6 No. 2 seed
- The fourth-place team will travel to face the District 6 No. 1 seed
Both crossover games are winner-to-state, loser-out contests.

Girls Basketball
Girls basketball postseason qualification mirrors the boys format. The top six SCAC teams and the top two teams from the Caribou Trail League will advance to the District 5 1A Girls Basketball Tournament, an eight-team, double-elimination tournament seeded by a committee.
This includes a CTL #3 vs. CTL#2 game for the second spot in the District 5 Tournament. This Game will be played on Saturday February 7th at the CTL #2
The top two teams in the District 5 Championship game will earn automatic berths to the WIAA 1A State Tournament.
The third- and fourth-place finishers will compete in District 5/6 crossover games on Saturday, February 21:
- The third-place team will host the District 6 No. 2 seed
- The fourth-place team will travel to face the District 6 No. 1 seed
Both games are winner-to-state, loser-out matchups.

Boys Wrestling
The District 5 Boys Wrestling Tournament will be a two-day event featuring all nine SCAC schools and three Caribou Trail League schools. Each school may qualify up to two wrestlers per weight class.
- Day 1: Wednesday, February 11, at Wapato High School
- First two rounds of both the championship and consolation brackets
- Day 2: Saturday, February 14, at Connell High School
The top seven finishers in each weight class will qualify for the WIAA 1A State Wrestling Tournament (Mat Classic) at the Tacoma Dome, scheduled for February 20–21.
Girls Wrestling
The girls wrestling postseason begins with a sub-district tournament on Friday, February 6, at OkanoganHigh School. Wrestlers will then advance to the District 5 Tournament on Thursday, February 12, at Omak High School.
The top 10 wrestlers in each weight class will qualify for the WIAA 1A State Wrestling Tournament (Mat Classic) at the Tacoma Dome, held February 20–21.
