From Coach Roth:
Chelan vs Eastmont at The WRAC (non-league)
I’m very pleased with how today played out. Most players on both squads had a close competitive match that required focus, strategy adjustments and grit. We love playing that extended 4A format and giving a bunch more Chelan kids a shot to compete in a varsity match!
Girls: Chelan 4, Eastmont 3
#1 Singles: Estee Flynn (C) def Avary Anantatmula 4-6, 6-3, 7-5
#2 Singles: Alison Horner (C) def Kendra Johnson 6-1, 6-3
#3 Singles: Keely Collins (C) def Addie McGarrah 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1
#4 Singles: Mac Reasor (E) def Madelyn Wallace 6-4, 6-0
#1 Doubles: Olivia Erwin/Esme Portillo (E) def Lizzy Hutchinson/Maddie Cowan 6-2, 6-2
#2 Doubles: Reese Bordner/Josie Bekel (C) def Emily Suydam/Isla Chapman 7-4 (7-4), 4-6, 6-4
#3 Doubles: Ellie Gale/Berkeley Howe (E) def Betsy McLemore/Ruby Harberd 6-1, 6-4
The Lady Goats were able to “steal” this win against a quality 4A girls program primarily because Chelan won all the split-set 3-setters. Any less mental toughness and this could have been a 6-1 Eastmont win. Props to Estee, Keely, Reese and Josie for being clutch and gutting out some long sets to secure the victory. The Chelan girls move to 7-1 on the season.
Boys: Chelan 5, Eastmont 2
#1 Singles: Isaac Anderton (E) def Angel Mendez 6-2, 6-1
#2 Singles: Parker Johnson (E) def Elijah Moody 6-3, 7-6 (7-5)
#3 Singles: Cooper Neff (C) def Kai Santa Cruz 6-4, 6-4
#4 Singles: Mac Paglia (C) def Cristian Murdock 6-2, 6-1
#1 Doubles: Wade and Owen Sanderson (C) def Ian Patterson/Marcos Cortes 6-0, 6-0
#2 Doubles: Loen Moody/Nick Diaz-Manda (C) def Cristian Zaldivar/Nathan Shaw 6-2, 6-2
#3 Doubles: Dean Hinkley/Brock Didra (C) def Archie Garibay/Aaron Pacheco 3-6, 6-3, (10-6)
The Chelan boys keep pace with the girls team, also improving to 7-1 here in 2026.
