Goats Claim the District 5 Championship — Beat Cashmere 3–1

Dist VB 2025

In a high-energy championship battle Saturday night at Wenatchee High School, the Chelan Goats handled the moment — and the pressure, once again.

Top-ranked and undefeated Chelan took down No. 3 ranked Cashmere 3–1 to claim the District 5 Title, winning by scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19.

The win improves the Goats to 19–0 on the season and sends them to the State Tournament with momentum in hand, confidence locked in, and another banner moment collected along the way.

Offensive Firepower Leads the Charge

Brynn Hughbanks continued her dominant postseason pace — hammering 36 kills to lead all hitters and set the tone from the opening set to the final point.

Marley Williams added 10 kills, while Brooklyn Foyle chipped in 4. Alison Horner (2), Esther Petersen (1), and Gracelyn Roberts (1) all contributed offensively as Chelan stretched Cashmere’s defense throughout the night.

Defense Wins Championships

Chelan didn’t just score — they dug.

Over and over again.

BrooklynFoyle led the floor with 15 digs, while Brynn Hughbanks and Alison Horner were right behind with 13 each. Jayzee Hughbanks added 11 and Gracie Gilsoul 2 as the Goats’ back row made key stops at critical momentum swings.

At the net, Chelan stuffed Cashmere’s attackers — Esther Petersen and Brooklyn Foyle each picked up 2 blocks, while Alison Horner added another.

Pressure Serving Closes the Door

The Goats served aggressively and it paid off — especially late in sets.

Alison Horner led with 3 aces, Brooklyn Foyle added 2, Marley Williams 1, and Gracie Gilsouls 1 as Chelan controlled tempo and kept Cashmere chasing.

Next Stop: State

The Goats now turn their focus to Yakima and the 1A State Tournament — where they will look to add another chapter to their incredible run.

Seeding is set to come out around 12 noon today!
