Goats fall to Bears in League Opener

The Chelan Goats hit the road on Saturday for a league matchup against the Brewster Bears, coming up just short in a tightly contested 2-1 battle.

Chelan battled from start to finish in a physical, back-and-forth match, showing resilience and composure against a tough Brewster side. The Goats found their breakthrough thanks to Edwuin Avila, who netted Chelan’s lone goal to keep the pressure on. Despite several strong efforts and a determined push late in the match, the Goats were unable to find the equalizer before the final whistle.

The narrow loss highlights the team’s competitiveness in league play and sets the stage for a quick turnaround.

Chelan will look to bounce back on Monday as they host the Tonasket Tigers in another league contest. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM at Mountain Goat Field.
