Goats Finish Out Regular Season at Lake Roosevelt

The Chelan Goats wrapped up their regular season yesterday on the road at Lake Roosevelt, splitting the night with a boys win and a girls loss.

The girls battled hard but fell to the Raiders, 60–46. Lake Roosevelt held a narrow edge early, leading 14–12 after the first quarter, and extended the lead to 30–19 at halftime. Chelan continued to compete in the second half, but the deficit proved too much to overcome. Brynn Hughbanks led the Goats with 19 points, while Jayzee Hughbanks added 10. Jayci Simmons and Faryn Huewe each chipped in 5. The girls now turn their focus to postseason play and will host the loser of Omak and Cascade on Saturday at Chelan High School in a loser-out, winner-to-districts contest.

The boys closed the regular season in dominant fashion, cruising to an 81–43 victory. Chelan set the tone early, jumping out to an 18–8 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. The Goats led 34–20 at halftime and pulled away further in the second half behind a balanced offensive attack. Tev Uttech led the way with 18 points, Luca Faletto added 16, and Trevor Faletto and Tanner Orestad each finished with 15.

With the win, the boys have already secured their spot in the District 5 tournament and will await seeding, which will be released Saturday night.
