Goats Soccer Fall in Overtime to Tonasket

The Chelan Goats boys soccer team battled until the very end but came up just short in a hard-fought 3-2 overtime loss to the Tonasket Tigers.

Chelan found themselves trailing early after Tonasket capitalized on a corner kick in the 39th minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. The Goats responded with energy in the second half, as Anthony Armenta found the back of the net in the 52nd minute to even the score at 1-1.

Momentum stayed with Chelan midway through the half when Edwuin Avila delivered a highlight moment, striking a shot from midfield in the 64th minute to give the Goats a 2-1 advantage.

Tonasket refused to go away, however, and equalized in the 78th minute to send the match into overtime tied 2-2. In the extra period, the Tigers were able to capitalize on their opportunity, netting the game-winner to secure the 3-2 victory.

Next up the goats travel to Oroville to take on the Hornets at 4pm on Thursday!
