The Chelan Goats hosted the Okanogan Bulldogs on Tuesday night in a non-league matchup, renewing a rivalry that saw Chelan sweep Okanogan in their previous meeting. This time around, the Goats split on their home floor, with the girls earning a win and the boys coming up short.
The Chelan girls battled throughout and pulled away late for a 44–37 victory. The Goats held a narrow 14–12 lead after the first quarter before trailing 28–26 at halftime. Chelan responded with a strong third quarter to regain the lead, 33–32, and closed the game with solid defense and execution down the stretch. Brynn Hughbanks led the way with a standout performance, scoring 29 points. Jayci Simmons and Ximena Chavez each added five points, while Jayzee Hughbanks chipped in three and Esther Petersen added two.
In the boys game, Chelan fought hard but fell to the Bulldogs, 68–58. Okanogan led 15–10 after the first quarter and 31–27 at the half. The Goats rallied in the third quarter to take a brief 45–42 lead, but the Bulldogs finished strong in the fourth to secure the win. Luca Faletto and Tev Uttech paced Chelan with 20 points apiece, while Trevor Faletto added 13.
Tuesday night also marked the final regular season home game for Chelan’s seniors. The program would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our seniors for their leadership, commitment, and dedication to Goats basketball over the years.
Next up, the Chelan Goats hit the road on Friday as they travel to Bridgeport to take on the Mustangs.
