Chelan Baseball Splits Doubleheader with Okanogan
The Mountain Goats earned a split on Saturday, taking Game 1 in a tight 6-5 win before falling 8-0 in Game 2.
In the opener, Chelan erased a 1-0 deficit with a six-run fifth inning, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Beau Fricke. Braxton Boyd picked up the win, tossing six innings with 10 strikeouts and no walks. Chelan collected nine hits, with Boyd and Henry Miller adding two apiece, and held on late to secure the victory.
Game 2 saw Okanogan jump out early and maintain control in an 8-0 win. Chelan managed three hits on the day from Miller, Fricke, and Spencer Richardson but couldn’t generate offense against strong Okanogan pitching.
The Goats are back in action Tuesday against Cashmere at Wenatchee Valley College.
