Goats Sweep Brewster in Non League Baseball Double Header

Game 1:

Rowan Macnamara threw a shutout to lead Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats past Brewster 8-0 on Tuesday.

Henry Miller collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Miller singled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

A ground out by Macnamara put Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats on the board in the bottom of the first.

A sacrifice fly by Macnamara extended the Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Becker took the loss for Brewster. The starter went five innings, allowing seven runs (five earned) on 13 hits, striking out two and walking three.

Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats accumulated 15 hits in the game. Maddoc Finch and Miller were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats. Game 2:

Maddoc Finch collected three hits in four at bats, as Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats defeated Brewster 9-3 on Tuesday. Finch doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the first inning.

Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats scored five runs in the sixth inning on the way to victory. Kasey Sweeney laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, Tanner Orestad doubled, scoring one run, Henry Miller drew a walk, scoring one run, and Finch doubled, scoring two runs.

Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after C Simmons balked, Rowan Macnamara singled to right field, and Beau Fricke singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Orestad earned the win for Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats. The starter gave up two hits and three runs (zero earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking one. Simmons took the loss for Brewster. The starter went five and two-thirds innings, surrendering nine runs (five earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking three. Braxton Boyd tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Chelan Varsity Mountain Goats in relief. The righty surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
