The Chelan Goats boys and girls basketball teams made the trip to Bridgeport on Friday night and came home with a clean sweep over the Mustangs, picking up two convincing road wins.
The girls set the tone early and never looked back in a dominant 53–13 victory. The Goats jumped out to a 22–13 lead after the first quarter, then locked in defensively, holding Bridgeport to just six points over the middle two quarters. Chelan led 35–6 at halftime and 49–6 after three before closing out the win.
Offensively, the scoring was balanced for the Goats. Brynn Hughbanks led the way with 16 points, followed by Jayzee Hughbanks with 11 and Jayden Simmons with 10. Reeghan Evans added 6, Krista Carlton scored 4, and Avari Barker, Faryn Huewe, and Esther Petersen each chipped in 2.
The boys followed with a strong 69–52 win, using a fast start and steady offensive production to control the game. Chelan built a 26–10 advantage after the first quarter and carried a 34–23 lead into halftime. The Goats extended the margin to 45–37 after three and finished strong down the stretch.
Trevor Faletto led all scorers with 29 points, while Tev Uttech was close behind with 28. Luca Faletto added 8 points, and Neko Haayes contributed 6 in the win.
Next up, the Goats hit the road once again as they travel to Lake Roosevelt on Tuesday to close out the regular season.
