The Chelan Goats hit the road for a league matchup in Oroville on Thursday, coming away with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Hornets.
Chelan struck first in the 37th minute when Aaron Montalvo found the back of the net to give the Goats a 1-0 lead. Oroville responded almost immediately, equalizing in the 38th minute to send the teams into halftime tied 1-1.
The second half saw both sides battling for control, but it was Chelan who broke through late. In the 75th minute, Sebastian Cisneros delivered the game-winner, finishing a key opportunity to put the Goats ahead for good and secure the league win.
Chelan showed resilience throughout, responding to Oroville’s quick equalizer and staying composed to find the decisive goal late in the match.
The Goats will look to carry that momentum into their next contest as they return home to host the Okanogan Bulldogs on Monday, April 20th at 4:00 PM at Mountain Goat Field.
