Goats Track Compete at the 2026 Omak Cinder Classic

The Chelan Goats put up some impressive numbers at the 2026 Omak Cinder Classic on April 21. From dominant performances in the throwing circle to personal bests on the track, it was a productive day for the squad.

๐Ÿ† Top Podium Finishers

  • Boston Brown (Sr): Led the way for the boys’ team with a 1st Place finish in the Discus (122′ 2″) and a 2nd Place finish in the Javelin.
  • Noah Kanehen (Jr): Secured 1st Place in the Javelin with a throw of 139′ 3″ and added another top-10 finish in the Discus.
  • Lucia Galvan (Fr): Dominated the distance events, taking 1st Place in the Womens 1600m with a personal best time of 6:54.0.
  • Samantha Ehlert (Fr): Leaped into 1st Place in the Long Jump with a mark of 14′ 4″.
  • Sarah Burdick (Jr): Earned 2nd Place in the Womens Javelin with a personal record throw of 97′ 0″.
  • Levi Kanehen (Fr): Claimed 2nd Place in Shot Put with a new personal best of 42′ 5″.
  • Mary Doyle (Fr): Picked up 2nd Place in the 1600m with a personal record of 7:17.0.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Notable Performances & PRs

The Goats saw a wave of Personal Bests (PB) across the board. In the field, Gracie Griffith secured 4th in the Discus, while Natalie Coy placed 5th in the Javelin and 6th in the High Jump. On the track, Nichole Aparicio and Samantha Ehlert both represented Chelan well in the sprint events.

The freshman class particularly stood out this meet, with many athletes placing in the top five of their respective events in their first appearances at the Omak track.
