Postgame Write-Up: Goats Roll Into the State Semifinals

State VB Update

The Chelan Goats came into the WIAA 1A State Volleyball Tournament as the top seed—and on Day 1 at the Yakima SunDome, they played exactly like it.

Chelan opened tournament play with a dominant sweep over the #16-seeded Bear Creek School, winning 25-17, 25-7, 25-15. The Goats set the tone early with clean execution, strong serving, and balanced offensive production, quickly settling into a rhythm that never wavered.

In the quarterfinals, the Goats faced a tough #8-seeded Kalama squad, but Chelan once again showed why they sit atop the bracket. The Goats controlled the match from start to finish, completing another sweep—25-13, 25-18, 25-16—to punch their ticket to the State Semifinals.

Tomorrow, Chelan will square off with a familiar opponent: the #5-seeded Cashmere Bulldogs. It will be the third meeting between the rivals this season. Chelan has won the previous two matchups (3-0 and 3-1), but with a trip to the state championship match on the line, the Goats will come fired up and ready to play!
