STATE XC MEET RECAP — GOATS IN PASCO

A big Saturday on the Tri-Cities plains for Chelan Cross Country.

The Goats wrapped up their season this weekend at the WIAA State Championships at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco — and once again, Chelan represented itself among the best in Washington.

On the girls side, Indy Fielding delivered the headline performance for Chelan. The junior ran fearless in the 1A field and finished 11th overall out of 150 runners — just one spot outside the Top-10 in the state. One of the most consistent runners in the CTL all fall — she just delivered one of her strongest race on the biggest stage.

On the boys side, Austin Zimmer represented the Goats in a 153-athlete field and placed 92nd overall. Zimmer closed out his season with toughness and found a strong rhythm in the second loop in a race that always features one of the deepest 1A packs in the state.

Both Chelan athletes ran clean races, handled the early speed well, and continued the tradition of Chelan XC being present at the final Saturday of the season.

It was a great ending to a great fall.

Go Goats!
