Leading the way for the boys was senior Boston Brown, who claimed the meet championship in the discus with a throw of 127’0”, continuing his impressive start to the season. The Goats also showed their depth in the throws, placing three athletes in the top five of the shot put. Manny Cazarez led the group with a third-place finish (40’4” PB), followed closely by freshman Levi Kanehen in fourth (40’1” PB). Kanehen added to his standout day with a runner-up finish in the javelin (111’0”) and a fourth-place mark in the discus (118’9.5”), showcasing his versatility.
On the girls side, Ashley Hernandez delivered a big performance in the discus, earning a second-place finish with a personal best throw of 68’11”. She also placed fifth in the javelin (61’5”), while teammate Jordyan Hardwick took second in the javelin (77’11”), leading a strong showing for the Chelan girls in the throws.
On the track, Cali Whiteman led the sprint group with a seventh-place finish in the 100 meters (14.50 PB) and added an eighth-place finish in the 200 meters (30.33 PB). The girls relay teams were a highlight of the meet, with the 4×100 team of Makenzie Culver, Leilani Fernandez-Avila, Whiteman, and Reeghan Evans placing third (58.09), while the 4×200 team of Culver, Evans, Fernandez-Avila, and Whiteman also took third (1:58.01).
Additional standout performances included Leilani Fernandez-Avila, who placed third in the long jump (13’6”), and a number of athletes who set personal records, reflecting the team’s continued growth early in the season.
The Goats will look to build on this momentum as they head into the next stretch of competition.
