Softball:

The Chelan Goats hit the road and came away with a strong 13-6 victory over familiar SCAC and District 5 rival Cashmere, continuing their impressive start to the season.

Chelan set the tone early with a balanced offensive attack and never let up, tallying runs throughout the game to secure the win. In the circle, Olivia Mack delivered a complete game performance, striking out five and walking three while keeping the Bulldogs in check.

The Goats’ lineup was productive from top to bottom. Henley Gardner led the charge at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Jayci Simmons provided a big spark as well, finishing 2-for-2 with a double and driving in four runs. Jayden Simmons added to the offensive surge, going 2-for-4 and crossing the plate three times.

Faryn Huewe chipped in with a 1-for-3 effort and scored twice, while Grace Robert’s had a strong day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

With the win, the Goats improve to 5-1 on the season and continue to build momentum early in the year.

Chelan will look to keep things rolling as they return home this Saturday to host the Cle Elum Warriors in a doubleheader at Mt. Goat Field, with first pitch set for 11:00 AM and game two to follow at 1:00 PM.

Golf:

The Chelan Goats golf teams made the most of their home course advantage on Thursday, hosting the Cashmere Bulldogs at Chelan Municipal Golf Course and coming away with a clean sweep on both the boys and girls sides.

The Chelan boys put together a strong team performance, posting a winning score of 358 to top Cashmere’s 380. Leading the way was Carson Clinton with a solid 75. Gunnar Baker added a 95, while Paxton Johnson and Grant Coonrod each carded rounds of 95 to round out the scoring effort. Consistency across the lineup and smart course management helped the Goats secure the victory on their home fairways.

On the girls side, Chelan continued the momentum with an impressive 430-486 win. Hallie Clinton led the way with an 88, and Sydney Weston followed with a 100 as the Goats capitalized on their familiarity with the course to pull away from the Bulldogs.

The sweep marks another positive step forward for both programs as they continue to build confidence early in the season.

Chelan will now take a short break for spring break before returning to action with a non-league matchup in Ephrata.
