The Chelan Goats traveled to Wenatchee High School Thursday night to take on the 4A Wenatchee Panthers in a non-league matchup.

What started as a 1A vs. 4A matchup turned into a five-set battle, with both teams trading momentum throughout the night.

Wenatchee took the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-12, but the Goats responded with a strong third set, battling back to take it 25-23. Chelan continued that momentum into the fourth set, earning a 25-19 victory to force a deciding fifth set.

In the fifth, the Goats and Panthers went back and forth in a tightly contested finish. Wenatchee ultimately edged Chelan 15-13 to take the match 3-2.

Despite the tough loss, the Goats showed tremendous fight, responding after dropping the first two sets and pushing a 4A opponent all the way to the final points of the fifth. Next up the Goats travel to Freeman for the annual Freeman Volleyball Tournament this weekend!
